Line powered, no batteries to worry about, the VRT-1000 is a great ADA phone and is easy to program. This replaces any that is currently mounted in any CJA car station.

1. Dial the number of the telephone line that the emergency phone is connected to.
   (Phone must be on a dedicated line)
2. The emergency phone will answer (go online) automatically after one (1) ring.
3. When the phone comes online, wait five (5) seconds, then enter the Security Code: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
   You should hear two (2) beeps.
4. Enter the Primary Number followed by # 0 0.
   You should hear two (2) beeps.
5. Enter the Secondary Number followed by # 0 1.
   You should hear two (2) beeps. (Optional)
6. Enter * 4 to start Voice Message recording.
   You have sixteen (16) seconds to record. Enter any touch tone to stop recording.
   Note: The message must include: “hit star to talk to caller” to enable 2-way communication.
7. Enter your Identification Number followed by # 2 0.
   You should hear two (2) beeps. (Optional)
8. Hang up – your phone is now programmed.

Definitions

• Primary Number: The first number the emergency phone dials when the button is pressed.
• Secondary Number: A backup number dialed if the primary number is busy or doesn’t answer.
• Voice Message: The recorded announcement played to the receiver of the emergency call.
• Identification Number: A customer-defined number used to identify the phone’s location. Appears on a DM-4 Monitor and/or caller ID.
• Security Code: A series of digits allowing access to the phone’s programming mode. Default factory code: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
