The C.J. Anderson Retiring Cam (ARC), made in the USA, is a Self Contained Retractable Cam. Its modular design permits replacement of all component parts in the field. This is a 2.75” wide by 12.25” long cam which can be used on any type of door lock. It is the easiest Cam in the industry to install. It only requires two mounting bolts and a two-wire hook-up. It has no motor, linkage or chains to adjust or break.

This Cam operates from 110 volts to 220 volts AC or DC. It can be used as a replacement for almost any cam currently installed.

Operation

When the elevator is at the desired floor the ARC Retiring Cam receives a signal from the controller which de-energizes the unit. This causes the cam to drop out and press up against the release roller on the door interlock. When the elevator is ready to leave the floor to another landing the elevator controller must know that the safety circuit is closed. The door gate switch, the door closed contact must be closed before the retiring cam can energize and pull away from the roller assembly on the door interlock. Once it does the door locked contact is closed and the elevator can travel to the next landing.
