History In the Making
(Carl John) C.J. Anderson Himself from 1915
Founded in 1910 by C. J. Anderson and his two brothers, the company, CJA, developed and manufactured switches, interlocks and control systems for the fledgling elevator industry in the Midwest. The brothers’ design skills and tool and die making backgrounds led to the development of many specialized products needed at that time. Today CJA is a privately owned family run business, dedicated to you, our customer. In today’s day and age, CJA is one of the oldest companies in the elevator industry which isn’t owned by another company.
Our Team
The CJA Team enjoys working together to get your order out as quickly as possible. Our small size helps us in adjusting production when needed and also in assisting on custom projects that require significant problem solving to get a project manufactured and out the door. . Our employees have an average of 19 years on the job, with some members having over 32 years. Many are cross trained so that we’re able to assist in other departments and product lines when required.
Our Capabilities
We offer CNC punching, machining and engraving processes which are used for manufacturing the majority of our products. However we still do quite a bit of layout by hand, drilling using jigs, to ensure the products we manufacture are built as tough as they were a hundred years ago. Custom manufacturing is something we enjoy doing, whether it’s modifying our existing products or developing new ones.
