This is a takeoff of the old cab seats that were prevalent in the days when full-time attendants sat and ran the cars for the passengers, either with a car switch or by pushing the buttons. These attendants were the information center or directory for the building, particularly department stores, assisting the passenger if they didn’t know where to go. Because this was a pre-retirement job for many of the attendants, the cab seat was essential for their health.
The new CJA Elevator Cab Seat is not intended strictly for health reasons, but more to add prestige to a home elevator, or to give the owner the old time elevator look and feeling.
The complete assembly comes with a solid cast brass mounting plate and cast brass adjustable seat holder, with a ten inch diameter oak seat. The seat is available in the colors shown below or unstained for you to stain it yourself.
It has four levels of height adjustment and a drop down position when not in use. Mounting is simple with five mounting holes provided. These are built per order and have a four week lead time.
